Today students in our class and in our school wore orange shirts to share that we believe EVERY CHILD MATTERS and to learn more about Canada's First Nations. Walter MacDonald White Bear shared his stories and music while teaching us about the Cree cutlure. Thanks to those students in our class who performed skits to share every day events where we might need to say we are sorry and try to make the situation better. We were very proud of our fellow classmates as they used their STAGE VOICES (and microphones), looked at our audience and tried their personal best! Way to go! Don't forget to go to our school website schools.cbe.ab.ca/b106/ to sign up or conferences. Once on our Copperfield School website, look to the left side, then click on the BLUE BUTTON on the LEFT SIDE. Sign in to My CBE account and choose a conference time. When you visit our school website, be sure to sign up for school messages too. As of October 1st, I won't be able to send out group emails as easily as I could in the past. This blog and our school website will be our main means of communication. EGG WONDERING.......It has been 21 days (today) since we put our eggs in the incubator and we wonder when they will hatch?
Scholastic Book Fair will take place during conferences! FAMILIES - Have you returned your PARENT VIEWPOINT and all your OPENING FORMS yet? Quotes from the students in room 128 (feel free to ask your child to explain):
"We learned about Pascal's Triangle and the patterns in Math. It might continue on and on and on and on...." - AH "In Pascal's Triangle there were patterns of numbers we had to try to figure out with our groups. They were in the shape of hearts or upside-down triangles" - KJL "We achieve our Personal Bests (PBs) at the Terry Fox Run today (around the Pond)" - MOS "With our groups we did skits for ORANGE SHIRT DAY which some of us will share at the assembly on Friday." -KA "We began draft two of The Best Part of Me and it was fun" - MES REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR ORANGE SHIRT ON FRIDAY! You don't have to go shopping, but can be creative if you don't have one (ie. wear orange pants, or a shirt with orange on it, accessories in orange will work too, but no hats). Mrs. Ross will be learning in the morning and we will have a guest teacher! But she will be back to the school in the afternoon! Lots of Love from , From your kids :) (aka the BEST CLASS IN THE PROVINCE)! We still need some Volunteer help to make this trip a success!

Here is the link to our school website - schools.cbe.ab.ca/b106/ We hope you got your school notice reminder in the very special and stylish Copperfield Tote Bag! The bag is used to send notes back and forth and should be returned to school daily. Take care of these bags as there is only one for each student. Photo Day is on Monday, September 26th! TELUS Spark field trip is on Tuesday, September 27th! Now for the answer to our riddle: 'Unique up on it'! (get it, say "you sneak up on it" with your nose plugged)! We used our creations from yesterday's (Thursday, September 15th) designing session inspired by Beakerhead. On Wednesday, we received a secret package and when we opened it, we found out about our design task! It was to create something using pingpong balls, elastics, paint can, bubble wrap and box. The theme was MUSIC. We viewed the Wintergaten's Marble Machine for inspiration at www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvUU8joBb1Q, Other materials were allowed, thanks to those of you who brought in "stuff". Stay tuned for our iMovie about our Musical Bouncer !
