Today was a whirlwind of personal bests and creativity! Music Monday Recently we have been learning American Sign Language to make our Music Monday performance more inclusive for all. Students should be watching the video and practicing their signs at home, click here to see the video with lyrics. YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR PERFORMANCES: 11:00 am on Monday, May 1, is for extended family (grandparents, etc) 6:30 pm on Monday, May 1, is for immediate family (parents and siblings) These times are to accomodate as many people from our community while adhering to the Fire Regulations of our space. We also had hip-hop artist Shaun Boothe visit our school to present his "unauthorized biographies" on heroes like Terry Fox and Malala. This meshed well with our classroom theme of small but mighty and setting measureable goals ('going lamp post to lamp post'). Dadaist Poems In our poetry unit we have been learning about many different ways to express ourselves. Today we attempted "the cut up technique" which was used by popular artists like David Bowie. Students worked hard to rework lyrics into their own new creations and learn how to draw inspiration from others. Grand Arcade Students are working hard to create their own classroom arcade to raise money for the Alberta Children's Hospital. Science is all around us as we incorporate levers, pulleys, inclined planes and more! Volunteers Wanted !
We desperately need volunteers on May 15th and 16th for our field trip to BarU Ranch. This is a full day trip and we need volunteers with CBE volunteer clearance. Thanks to our 2 volunteers who have already offered their time! We hope to have 4 more of you volunteer, if possible. We are grateful for your time! [email protected] Comments are closed.
